3 ways i work
I can solve the problem for you, work alongside your team, or help your team get better at doing it themselves.
1 innovate
I’ll find a better way to make the product work, then help turn it into something you can actually make.
2 collaborate
Bring in senior innovation capability without adding permanent headcount or another layer of consultancy.
3 enable
Help your team spot stronger opportunities, generate less obvious ideas and turn more of those ideas into real products, faster.
change the way it works
Find the functional difference that gives customers a reason to choose your product.
The best opportunities are often hidden in the way a product actually does its job. It might be how something moves, flows, locks, fits, switches or connects, or it might be a completely new way of doing something people have been doing the same way for years. That’s the bit I’m interested in: finding the functional idea that makes the product simpler, smarter, easier to manufacture or just plain better.
protect it. make it.
Build useful IP around the innovation and engineer it with manufacturing, cost and production in mind from the start.
A clever idea is only valuable if you can protect it and make it. I’ve commercialised more than 16 patented inventions, so I think about IP, materials, tolerances, tooling, assembly, suppliers and cost while the idea is still taking shape, not after the design is finished. That usually means fewer nasty surprises later and a much better chance of ending up with something that can be manufactured, protected and sold at the right margin.
If you’ve got a physical product that needs to work better, differently or more simply, let’s see if I can help.
I’m not interested in dragging you through a sales process. Tell me what you’re working on, where you’re stuck and what you’re trying to achieve. If I think I can add something useful, I’ll say so. If not, I’ll say that too.
